It will be a place where you can discover surf tips, trips and unique spots related to the world of surfing.
We will also show you the products within the platform. Why not? In the end our goal is to bring these products closer to you, who are unaware of them. In this way, all local businesses in the surfing world will benefit with possibly one more customer. Let's hope a happy customer...
Brief overview of the surf blog
“Respect the Locals” is not simply a surf blog; is a movement that advocates the importance of respecting local communities in the world of surfing. We want to merge a passion for waves with an unwavering commitment to social responsibility.
Including all of us. You as a surfer, us as The Surf Valley and every brand that belongs to or appears on Respect the Locals.
The importance of respecting local communities in the world of surfing
The fundamental importance of maintaining a respectful relationship with local communities while enjoying what we love, surfing.
The Origins of "Respect the Locals"
The idea of creating a blog was clear. It is a communication mechanism where we seek to reach more people, to reach you who are reading this right now.
It was perfectly aligned with the surf shop's goal = to give visibility and be a speaker for all independent brands and local shapers.
Therefore we had no doubt that it was just another tool.
We just needed a name. A name that represents everyone, that allows us to talk about all the topics and concepts that we want to develop.
“The Valley Blog” was very ugly…how are we going to put the word “blog” in the name?
In this way we found “Respect the Locals”. It was perfect, it perfectly fulfilled our intention from The Surf Valley . But he also took a certain distance. If we were launching a surf magazine or media outlet, it could be called that perfectly.
The importance of maintaining a positive surf community.
Although The Surf Valley is dedicated to giving visibility only to independent surf brands and local shapers, we have nothing against big surf companies. They are our friends (even though they have no fucking idea who we are).
They have done a lot for the world of surfing, democratizing it and reaching many people. And that's good, it has an impact on all brands, shapers and surf schools.
The impact of Respect the Locals
We want to build a global community of surfers committed to respect and responsibility. Hence the “respect”.
And the best way to achieve this is by example, therefore, we want to bring you conversations with surfers, famous and not famous. One day you will find an interview with Aritz Aranburu or Kepa Acero, another day with Pepe Burra and another with Alberto, an “intermediate” surfer who all he does is love surfing even if it costs him horrors.
I invite you to join the surf community "Respect the Locals"
This is just the beginning, it is the first article on the blog. Precisely for this reason, it would be appreciated if you could give us ideas, tips, etc. both brands or things you would like to find on Respect the Locals.
Thank you very much for reading me! You can leave whatever you want below in the comments section! Baaaagus!
